The Infamous Stringdusters
The sophomore slump. The Infamous Stringdusters were certainly poised for one. Their debut release, last year’s Fork in the Road, garnered the band multiple IBMA awards, including a share of album of the year, and established the ‘Dusters as the hottest young bluegrass band on tour. They had nowhere to go but down, right? Well, no worries. Their newest release, simply titled The Infamous Stringdusters, picks up where Fork left off; hot picking, tight harmonies, and songwriting that continues their willingness to venture outside the notions of traditional bluegrass. “Golden Ticket” and “Glass Elevator” are destined to become classic instrumentals, the band is simply devious on the Danny Barnes cover “Get it While You Can,” and “Bound for Tennessee” beautifully captures the struggle of getting out of love too late. This record is proof that the ‘Dusters won’t be slumping anytime soon.
