The Madison County Sheriff’s department recently discovered a 5,000-plant pot farm on the side of a mountain about half an hour from Asheville, North Carolina. The farm farm encompassed an acre of public land, which the growers had cleared to allow sunlight to reach their plants. The individual plants were reported to be three feet tall and collectively worth millions.
The field was discovered during a helicopter patrol, and the Sheriff suspects more fields are scattered throughout the mountainous county, which houses a large portion of public land.
