Bad times for real estate can mean good times for land conservation. The New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia just confirmed plans to scoop up 100 acres from a private land owner, and according to the park superintendent, more acquisition could be on the way.
According to a story in the Charleston Gazette, the park is looking at another 600 acres owned by Gary Driggs, who planned to build a housing development called BridgeView Estates on the park border in Fayetteville.
