Some heavy-hitting musicians with roots in western North Carolina will come together during a huge benefit concert to support the region, as it begins a long recovery from the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene.
North Carolina natives Luke Combs and Eric Church will be joined by James Taylor and Billy Strings at the Concert for Carolina, which will take place on October 26 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Combs and Church are country heroes who both cut their teeth playing in North Carolina. Combs was raised in Asheville, and his road to headlining stadiums began in the High Country town of Boone, when he started gigging as a student at Appalachian State University. Church hails from Granite Falls, and he too was playing gritty, blue-collar tunes during his time at App State, before moving to Nashville to pursue a music career.
According to a press release, proceeds from the show, which will include additional artists to be announced soon, will be split between relief organizations chosen by Church and Combs.
