Trail Mix – June 2012

Like a sick instrumental jam in your ear?  A tasty little dose of nastiness with no words to get in the way?  If so, check out this month’s Trail Mix.  We have four nuggets that you will surely dig – check out “Tit For Tat” from sax master Bill Evans and co-written with Warren Haynes, “Gaia Tribe,” by guitar great Sonny Landreth and special guest Joe Satriani, and the funkilicious offerings from Lettuce and Billy Martin & Wil Blades.

If lyrics are your thing, check out new offerings from Chris Smither, Dangermuffin, Langhorne Slim, These United States, Efren, Lynn Taylor, Black Box Revelation, and Tara Mills, one of our favorite Charlottesville songstresses.

We are also featuring a brand new tune from The dB’s off of their first release in thirty years, and be sure to give a listen to “It’s All Over Now,” the new cut from Marley’s Ghost that features Old Crow Medicine Show.

Remember that Trail Mix is free – download at will, stream in the office, and spread the word to your friends and neighbors about these great roots artists.  And seek out a record or two from these fine musicians – support them and thank them for supporting us.
