Ah, college rivalries. As any sports fan knows, they go way beyond football. This weekend, you’ll see them take over the snow too, as four Virginia teams compete on the slopes at Massanutten Resort.
Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, and James Madison University all have some pretty talented ski and snowboard teams, and they’re itching to show off their skills. The Massanutten Rivals Competition this Saturday, February 7, will give each team the chance to strap on their ride and take to the terrain park. During the event, a live DJ will entertain the masses and set the tone for a good dose of healthy competition. Prizes and awards await the top boarders at the end of the night.
Warm-up for the competition begins at 5:30 PM Saturday evening, with the actual race ringing in at 6:30. The fun will last throughout the night, finishing in an awards ceremony. Sponsors for the event include Red Bull, Freestyle, and Powder Shack.
