Blue Ridge Outdoors Recognized by The Conservation Alliance

There’s some big news on the BRO front folks. We’re honored to announce that we’ve been nominated by The Conservation Alliance, a grassroots organization committed to protecting America’s wild places, for an Outstanding Partnership Award.

“It’s an incredible honor for The Conservation Alliance to include us as a finalist in their Outdoor Partnership Award, but honestly, the credit belongs to West Virginia Rivers Coalition and the years of hard work they’ve invested in protecting these West Virginia headwaters,” said BRO Editor in Chief Will Harlan. “We are simply shining the spotlight on their efforts. Blue Ridge Outdoors has always been committed to protecting the places where we play. West Virginia Rivers Coalition’s work to create Birthplace of Rivers National Monument is exactly the kind of grassroots effort that we like to feature.”

According The Conservation Alliance this award is meant recognize companies that exemplify “outdoor businesses giving back to the outdoors.”

“We are delighted to nominate Blue Ridge Outdoors for the Outstanding Partnership Award,”the organization posted on their website late last week.

“BRO is a shining example of how outdoor businesses can lead in efforts to protect wild places for recreation, habitat, and natural values. Their recognition of the intrinsic and social values of wild places is core to their company’s culture. They do this by telling great stories, raising awareness of grassroots conservation efforts, and encouraging volunteerism — including among its staff.”
