Fridays on the Fly: Cold Waters

It’s easy to lose sight of the havoc that climate change is wreaking on the natural world, but this sobering video from Conservation Hawks, featuring famed fly fisherman and Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, puts it right back into perspective. The science is there. The climate is getting warmer every year, ushering in extreme storms across the nation and unseasonable wildfires out West and now, right in our own corner of Appalachia.

These events, coupled with sky rocketing average temps are having an adverse effects on trout habitat. Unless immediate action is taken by our government, governments around the world, and ordinary citizens like you and me, it will only continue to get worse. If you enjoy spending time outdoors, whether you’re mountain biking, fly fishing, or rock climbing, you have a huge stake in the game, and the stakes have never been higher.
