Steve “Big Daddy” McMurry, front man for long time North Carolina newgrass crew Acoustic Syndicate, has unveiled a new line-up and announced new tour dates for his occasional supergroup, the Big Daddy Bluegrass Band. The side project will perform for the first time in five years next month, playing at the Visulite Theater in Charlotte on February 11 and the Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain on February 12. In addition to McMurry, the band will include dobro ace Billy Cardine of the Biscuit Burners, banjo picker Jason Flournoy (Larry Keel, Shanti Groove), bassist Jay Saunders (Syndicate, Donna the Buffalo), and Robert Greer, front man of Asheville-based bluegrass outfit Town Mountain.
