Brotherly Love

This winter G. Love will embrace his rootsy side and release a new album of country blues that was produced by North Carolina’s favorite sons, the Avett Brothers. Love and the Brothers worked together at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, N.C., on Fixin’ to Die, a new set that mixes throwback originals and traditional backroads blues covers. Both Scott and Seth Avett also perform on the album, which gets its names from an old school Bukka White song that appears on the album. Also of particular interest on the track list is a take on Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.” The album will be released on February 22.

Below is a video of Love and the Brothers performing together this past summer.
