Impulsive? Possibly. Necessary for me in many ways? Yes. For my own ego, it was something I felt I needed to do. For my mental state and confidence, which both had been shaken, it was a must. This time I was rewarded with a much better conclusion: an overall victory and a course record at the Iron Horse Endurance Run in Florahome, Florida.
Not every story has this wonderful ending but without a doubt the lessons learned from the past two weekends were both invaluable in their own certain way. Although I wouldn’t mind a few more of the “course record” lessons any day of the week.
