Fridays on the Fly: Bikefishing on Minnesota’s North Shore

In a recent issue of Blue Ridge Outdoor Magazine I wrote about an exciting bikefishing adventure deep in the heart of the Pisgah National Forest. The experience was one I’d been yearning for for quite awhile— combining two equally awesome ways of exploring one of the most expansive national forest units on the East Coast—and it’s certainly one that I will be seeking out time and again well into the future.

If you’re on the fence about bikefishing or just haven’t had time to coordinate a bikepacking and fly fishing excursion of your own, this short video from Salsa Cycles should help expedite the process. In it two Minnesota natives take to the North Shore of Lake Superior with enough fly fishing gear to outfit a small crew.

The scenery is beautiful, the fishing superb, and along the way these two longtime anglers learn a little more about themselves and the outdoor sports they love. Check it out!
