Mountain Biking Showdown This Month in Snowshoe, WV

Elite mountain bikers from all over the country have long awaited their turn to tackle the courses of Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia.

Come July 18-23, Snowshoe’s bike park will prove to be the beast of the East- a thrilling hot spot of trails to host a full six days of racing in the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships.

Bikers of all ages will be flying against time on Cheat Mountain, home to the epic bike park. Boasting 1,500 vertical feet of descent, this race is not meant for the weak, but for those who are daring, anyone can register before the cut off date of July 14th at midnight.

For those that want to experience the action as a spectator, check out the full racing schedule and if you book your stay through Snowshoe for the event, you can even find discounted lodging if you reserve prior to July 19.

The week of events include mens and women downhill, cross-country, dual slaloms, and team relays. For a look at what the racers will be put through, check out this video preview of the pro downhill course.

Make a trip of it with family or friends and catch all the jumps, thrills, and hopefully not too many spills throughout the championships! Award day will be in the late afternoon on Sunday where many racers will leave with pride in their sport, bragging rights, a series of titles, and for the best of the best- there is the coveted and sought after stars and stripes jersey.

Don’t miss the chance of a lifetime to see people from all walks of life, skill sets, and ages coming together to do what they love- tearing up the turf in the outdoors!
