Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker is preparing to release a new solo album, “Bright Future,” on Friday. But first she’s sharing one last preview of the record, the idyllic folk song “Free Treasure.”
The gently finger-picked tune—a duet with Twain’s Mat Davidson—is a meditation on the glow of new love, when a relationship is brimming with new discovery, and it’s perfect to soundtrack the blooms and porch breezes during the onset of spring.
Lenker will tour extensively in support of her album, with dates starting this month and running through November. In our neck of the woods, she’ll be performing at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville on March 21, then returning to the region this fall for stops in North Carolina, Georgia, and Washington, D.C.
