Bluegrass Benefit Concert Will Support Hurricane Relief Fund in WNC

Some of the top bluegrass players in western North Carolina will come together for a benefit concert to aid areas in the region affected by Hurricane Helene. The nonprofit FIND Outdoors has organized “Pickin’ for Pisgah,” which will feature members of Grammy-winning bluegrass band Steep Canyon Rangers and take place on November 10 at the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah Forest, N.C.

The 5 p.m. show will be headlined by the Pisgah Pickers, a special Steep Canyon side project featuring current members Mike Guggino and Mike Ashworth and former lead singer Woody Platt.

All proceeds go to the FIND Outdoors Hurricane Helene Relief Fund.

“We’re thrilled to host this concert in such a beautiful location and with such talented musicians to support a great cause,” Carolyn Ashworth, CEO of FIND Outdoors, said in a statement. “By attending “Pickin’ for Pisgah,” you will not only enjoy a fantastic night of live music but also contribute to essential restoration efforts for Pisgah National Forest, which is a vital asset to our community.”

The Cradle of Forestry, a historic site located four miles south of milepost 412 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, is recognized as the birthplace of modern forestry in America. Tickets are available at the event’s website https://gofindoutdoors.org/events/hurricane-helene-benefit-concert/
