A few of the region’s biggest festivals have announced impressive line-ups for 2025. Merlefest, the annual Americana bash that takes place on the campus on Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, N.C., will feature the Avett Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, the Dead South, and Watchhouse. A few additional headliners are still to be announced for the event that runs from April 24-27. The undercard features an expected roster of bluegrass heavyweights, including Sam Bush, the SteelDrivers, Tony Trischka and Peter Rowan. Ticket options and more information can be found here.
In Virginia, FloydFest will once again take place at FestivalPark in Check. The popular event’s organizers dropped an initial line-up that includes the Black Crowes, Mt. Joy, and the California Honeydrops with early ticket info. Many more artists will be revealed soon. The festival takes place from July 23-27.
Another Virginia fest, Rooster Walk, will be back next year, taking place May 22-25 at Pop’s Farm in Martinsville. An initial line-up includes Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country and Andy Frasco & the U.N., with many more bands on the way. Ticket options can be found here.
