Western North Carolina Outdoor Brands Launch Hurricane Helene Relief Effort

Fuel Goods, an accessible sports nutrition marketplace based in Asheville, N.C., has partnered with Pressio, a sustainable performance apparel brand, to launch the 828 Endurance Community. The initiative is a relief effort for outdoor and endurance businesses in western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene. Under the slogan “Together We Rise,” the campaign aims to raise funds primarily through the sale of specialty t-shirts, with proceeds directly supporting local outdoor brands.

“Asheville is our home and the inspiration we feel from the people and the landscape here reinforces our commitment to this community daily,” Fuel Goods CEO, Laura Jorgensen, stated in a press release. “Hurricane Helene continues to be an ongoing disaster, with relief efforts largely organized by the community. Outside support is crucial, but we all can band together to get through this. We started the 828 Endurance Community to support our friends and neighbors’ local businesses through this crisis.”

Designed by Ashlee Designs in collaboration with Pressio, the shirts have three price options ranging from $28-$100. The campaign’s original goal was to sell 1,000 custom-designed shirts with 100% of the proceeds going to local businesses within WNC’s endurance/recreation community. As of this week, the brands announced that the campaign surpassed expectations in local sales and instead is now selling across the country. The brands are now aiming to sell shirts in all 50 states.

“Together, we’re not just responding to a moment of need—we’re building a movement of unity and resilience,” Fuel Goods wrote in a Facebook post this week. “We’re blown away by the overwhelming support for the 828 Endurance Community’s Together We Rise campaign…As endurance athletes, we’re always up for the next challenge, and now we’ve set our sights on a new finish line: getting Together We Rise shirts in all 50 states”

Those looking to further support the campaign can browse Fuel Good’s sports nutrition and snacks at fuelgoods.com, where 10% of sales in October will be donated to the Together We Rise campaign.
