A new movement called the International Appalachian Trail (IAT) is pushing to extend the A.T. into Western Europe. Chapters of the IAT from Maine and Newfoundland recently traveled to Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Wales to lobby support for trail building in these countries. Read more here.
