A report, commissioned by Greenpeace and produced by ICF International, says that President Obama’s original stimulus package could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 61 million metric tons a year, which is the equivalent of taking 13 million cars off the road. The report looked at $24 billion of the original $52 billion, much of which has been incorporated into the plan that has grown to over $800 billion. Investing in alternative fuels and eliminating greenhouse gases were things Obama said must be included in a stimulus package.
