Fresh Tracks: The Infamous Stringdusters Release New Live Video for “Pearl of Carolina”

The Infamous Stringdusters released a new live performance video of “Pearl of Carolina,” a standout from the band’s most recent studio record, “Toward the Fray,” which is nominated for a 2023 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album.

The live take on “Pearl of Carolina” seen in the new visual took place just last month at the Moab Folk Festival in Utah and it features a guest sit-in from guitarist Molly Tuttle. Bassist Travis Book sings lyrics with lonesome sentiments about missing a love back home in the South, before the song peaks with a fleet-fingered guitar dual between Tuttle and ‘Dusters axe man Andy Falco.

Ahead of the Grammy Awards in February, the Stringdusters will ring in the new year with a three-night stand at The National in Richmond, Va., from December 29-31. The band is also starting to fill its 2023 calendar with festival slots, including appearances at Maryland’s DelFest in May and the Mountain Music Festival in West Virginia in June.
