More than a Woman

Gender tests show that controversial female sprinter and world champion Caster Semenya is a hermaphrodite, also referred to as intersex, meaning she has both male and female organs and hormones. The 18-year-old South African runner has no womb or ovaries and her testosterone levels are more than three times higher than those of a normal female, according to reports. According to a source with knowledge of the IAAF tests, Semenya has internal testes – the male sexual organs that produce testosterone.

Semenya could be stripped of the gold medal she won at the world championships last month.
