Earlier this week Sugar Mountain Resort in North Carolina reacted to cold temperatures and early season snow flurries by opening seven slopes and three lifts. Today West Virginia’s Snowshoe Mountain announced they will open this Friday, five days ahead of schedule, since the resort has quickly accumulated more than 35” inches of natural snow. Snowshoe will open six trails and two lifts this Friday, offering skiers and boarders a chance to hit the slopes for discounted $29 lift tickets through November 25.
