For twenty years, the student members of the American Society of Civil Engineers have been designing, building, and racing concrete canoes in an epic battle to see who can build the swiftest concrete canoe.
This year, the Annual National Concrete Canoe Competition will be held in Montreal, from June 19th to the 21st and students from Clemson University will be competing to see if their concrete canoe is the fastest of them all. 22 teams from the United States and Canada will compete in a series of events, culminating in a race to the finish line.
Look for concrete creek boats from kayak manufacturers next year.
