Trauma Tuesday: Vertical Pin Rescue Edition

This suspenseful vertical pin rescue video comes from the UK (United Kingdom for those who don’t know – but you should know), and is described by Rapid Media thusly: “A kayaker gets pushed off line and lands stuck, upright and underwater, in a strange vertical pin on the Lyn River in Devon, UK. He reaches through the rapid to give his rescuers a thumbs-up that he’s still breathing as the water rushes over his helmet. This GoPro footage shows his attempt at the run, a scary look at him trapped underwater and the full rescue operation.”

I love how these guys jump right into the fray as soon as something goes wrong. No hesitation, no contemplation, just action. A vertical pin rescue is no joke, and it’s good this guy was out for a paddle with friends willing to risk their personal safety to help a brother out of a tight jam.
