A Day in Gatlinburg, TN

The spring season awakens a lively spirit in Gatlinburg, bringing with it an abundance of opportunity to explore the great outdoors. Enjoy wildflower walks to ziplining, creating your own art masterpiece in the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community, to exploring birds eye views of the Smoky Mountains. Offering over 50 unique attractions, a diverse range of restaurants and shopping, local hidden gems and more, Gatlinburg is your basecamp for the perfect Spring break adventure.

Morning: Although it may be hard to leave the coziness of one of Gatlinburg’s hotels and cabins, the smell of warm stacks of pancakes makes it a bit easier. Home to 5 pancake houses, don’t miss a stop by Flapjacks Pancake Cabin or Pancake Pantry Camp for a sweet start to your day.

Afternoon:  Home to over 50 unique attractions, Gatlinburg has thrills for every member of the family. Take a stroll over America’s Longest Pedestrian Cable Bridge, cycle down the Smokies on a mountain-biking excursion, summit the highest point in Gatlinburg at Anakeesta. The options to explore the great outdoors are endless. If the great indoors are more your style, you can still see wildlife at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies’ daily penguin parade.

Evening: Wind down with a good meal at one of Gatlinburg’s local eateries and restaurants. With fine dining fit for an upscale dinner for two to a relaxing rooftop scene with southern comfort cuisine and live music, Gatlinburg has it all and something for every taste bud.

Local Tip: Growing abundant on over 800 miles of trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, native wildflowers carpet the forest floor, blooming from mid-March to June. Take a wildflower walk to find local favorites such as the Flame Azaleas, White Trillium, Rhododendron, Purple Phacelia and more – but remember – look but do not touch!
