Fun Is Just Beginning at Bryce Resort

January has delivered the goods at Bryce Resort! With a combination of natural snow and non stop snowmaking the mountain is boasting one of its deepest bases in a long time.

Located just 2 hours west of DC, Bryce is an easy destination for a weekend getaway. With 100 percent of skiable terrain open, the mountain has something to offer for all skill levels. Featuring three different beginner runs and a highly reputable snowsports school, Bryce is the perfect place to take your first turns. Even if you consider yourself a powder hound who will travel far for snow, this isn’t a mountain to skip over.

Short lift lines and an even shorter lift ride makes it easy to rip lap after lap. If you’re an Indy Passholder, a stop at Bryce is a must on your tour of the southeast.

When you’re ready to call it a day, the fun is just beginning in the base area with live music every Saturday at the outdoor bar and grill, Carter’s Hütte. Huddle with your friends around a fire, sip on your favorite beverage, and enjoy upbeat tunes while the sun dips behind the Blue Ridge Mountains that surround the area.

What Bryce lacks in vertical gain is all made up for in the culture and community that has developed and thrived around the mountain lifestyle. A racing program provides kids the opportunity to turn skiing into a lifelong passion with opportunities to travel afar. Events throughout the season bring life to the mountain weekend after weekend. The winter always ends with one of the best celebrations in the area. Winterfest, on March 12, features a lineup of events the whole family will want to take part in. Start the day with a pancake breakfast before diving into a cold river for the polar plunge. Take your chances in the Locher Challenge, a family friendly race down Bootlegger. And finish the day with the most entertaining event of all, the pond skim.

The end of winter only marks the beginning of another exciting season at Bryce with mountain biking and water activities on the beautiful Lake Laura. Because of the year round offerings many don’t just settle for the occasional weekend trip but choose instead to make Bryce a part of their lifestyle by becoming members. Year-round access to private amenities, discounted rates and a network of people who share a love for the outdoors and the activities it provides make membership at this resort worthwhile. Even if you don’t own a property on the mountain, the short trip to the secluded destination is worth making repeatedly throughout the year.

Bryce continues to grow and improve its infrastructure every year. The members’ sports complex will see a complete redesign in 2022 featuring a new pool with a lazy river surrounding it, a fitness center, a new golf pro shop, and a new dining facility. The resort will also be adding a new lift to further improve efficiency for those accessing the thrills of the mountain whether it be via skis or mountain bike. Regardless of your interests Bryce has something for everyone in one of the most peaceful settings you could ask for.
