This winter, Massanutten Resort continues its celebration of 50 years of snow sports. Starting with a group of local farmers, bootleggers, and an idea for a ski escape, Massanutten Resort has evolved into a leading player in the ski industry, with a specific emphasis on sustainability. The NUTT offers a plethora of lodging options, authentic mountain adventures, and a new opportunity for furry friends.
Coming off a celebratory horizon from the previous year highlighting 50 years of the resort, this season offers excitement for skiers and snowboarders alike with the opening of three new trails including Mueller’s Mile (blue trail), Ridgecrest (blue trail connecting Paradice to Mass Transit), and Slot (a black trail connecting Diamond Jim to the bottom of Mueller’s Mile. Additionally in the snowmaking arena, Massanutten has installed 84 new snow guns including automated low energy HKD KLIK guns, TechnoAlpin guns, and eight SMI fan guns for even more snow coverage on the trails with minimum effort.

For those new to the sport of skiing and snowboarding, Massanutten offers private lessons, group lessons, and a Children’s Program led by world-class instructors that get you out on the slopes faster and with more confidence.
Skiing and snowboarding aren’t the only winter sports up for play. Additional snow sport options include ice skating at the Rink, located at the Massanutten Fitness and Recreation Center and Snow Tubing at the Massanutten Family Adventure Park where guests can tube during the day or encounter an out-of-this-world experience with Northern Lights Tubing at night!
Once you’re done shredding the snow, it’s time to grab some grub from one of several dining options including:
Base Camp – a slope-side umbrella bar offering drinks and food complete with couches, chairs, torches and fire pits.
Elevations Lounge – located on the second floor of the Ski Lodge offering a fully stocked bar, light fare, table service, specialty drinks and live entertainment like Live at the Lodge every Friday and Saturday night.
Campfire Grill – a casual dining venue that pays homage to the outdoors and spirit of adventure featuring hand-crafted pizzas, camp stove chili, skillets, and the most popular dessert on the menu – Skillet S’mores.
Virginia BBQ – for those craving a taste of down-home southern barbecue, wood-smoked chicken, pork, and ribs accompanied by traditional southern sides.
