Trauma Tuesday: BASE Jumping Fail Edition

Cliff Strike 11/24/2013 from Subterminallyill on Vimeo.

Rarely does a BASE jumper last long enough to post a video when something goes horribly wrong during a BASE jump – and something goes horribly, horribly wrong during this BASE jump. He may not have “walked away” from this accident but the man in the video “only” suffered a “Compression Fracture of the T12 Vertebra, 5 stitches to the eye, 6 stitches to the chin, severely sprained Back, wrist and hand. multiple bruised areas.”

It is also really odd that he slammed right into the blade of rock jutting out from the cliff. Not sure if that helped or hurt his freefall, but I know it hurt…his body. Ouch.

Speaking of hurting the body, here is a bonus vid of what appears to be a benign endo on razors edge, that ends up having some serious consequences and requires some self-repair. Not for the squeamish.
